The school will be open for student to arrive starting at 8:00 a.m.  No students should arrive at school any earlier then 8:00 a.m.  All students are to remain in the foyer until 8:15 a.m., at which time they will be dismissed to their classrooms.

 

Lateness

 

A students are considered late if they arrive after 8:30 a.m.   Any student brought to school by a parent after 8:30 must:

     1)  be checked in at the Office by their parent

     2) receive an "Admittance Slip" from the office staff.

 

Any student who drives to school or rides the bus, and arrives after 8:30 a.m. must:

1) sign in at the Office and receive an "Admittance Slip" in order to enter their classroom.

 

Absence

 

A student is counted absent after 8:45 a.m.  If a student arrives after 8:45 a.m., they will be sent home.  A student will remain in the school foyer until a parent comes to pick them up.  This does not apply to a doctor or dentist appointment: a note from the doctor's office will excuse the absence.  Students must have a written excuse, signed by the parent or guardian, to be readmitted to class after all absences.  If a student is absent from school for any reason, they may not participate in team practices or games after school that day.  If there are excessive absences, the parent will be called and this may be grounds for disciplinary action or dismissal.

 

Sick Policy

 

Parents should not send a child to school that may have a communicable disease.  The school wishes to maintain an environment in which exposure to communicable diseases is minimized.

 

Leaving During The School Day

 

Any parent wishing to have their child released from school during the day must sign them out at the school office. Students will not be released to any adult other than their parent unless the parent has notified the school office in advance.  Any student who has a driver's license will not be allowed to leave school grounds prior to dismissal without prearranged parental permission. If a student must leave early for work or college on a regular basis, a schedule should be submitted to the principal. No student will be allowed to leave with another student driver unless the office receives permission from the parents of both students. Students are not allowed in or around their car, or the cars of their friends during school hours.
